Range Defenders is a Three Mesquiteers Western that teams up Robert Livingston, Ray Corrigan and Max Terhune.
When George Brooke (Thomas Carr) is framed for murder by town boss John Harvey (Harry Woods), it's up to his brother Stony (Robert Livingston) and his buddies to clear his name and bring Harvey and his henchmen to justice.
The print that you use is somewhat dark. Republic had a habit of using movie posters to decorate the walls of their sets, giving a plug to their other westerns. The classic battle scene at the end showed how Republic's action flowed intermidst camera shots of different scenes. The "gag" of having the big city gangster being blown off his horse by dynamite was done by Yakima Canutt. He re-enacted the stunt in a special live show for Republic's distributors in which the blast was so powerful it took out the windows of the adjoining sets.
